Nashville season 6 premiere date official on CMT

Want to learn the Nashville season 6 premiere date for the last batch of episodes over at CMT? Here’s the good news: You don’t have to wait any longer!

Today, the network confirmed that the latest batch of episodes for the country-music series will begin airing on Thursday, January 4. That is probably earlier than some out there imagined, but it does follow suit with what some other networks out there are doing with some of their shows. There is merit to launching early on in the season for a couple of different reasons:

1. The Olympic competition coming up in February. If you start up your show in January, then you have the choice of either taking your show off the air when the Winter Olympics are on or simply hope that you’ve built up enough momentum over time in order to ensure that viewers don’t bail on you during that time.

2. This is the time of the year when there are plenty of viewers around! You really need to capitalize on an audience of bored viewers at the start of the year to get things rolling — while we do think many Nashville fans are going to watch the show regardless of when it comes on the air, you want to try and get to them early in the year when they don’t have anything to do other than try to watch the show live.
